The Hong Kong Prize and BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize

The Hongkong Prize is one of the world’s premier writing contests that honor authors who specialize in Asian culture and history. Its impartial judging system makes it an attractive option for writers looking for substantial monetary prizes without concern about being scammed, while participants also have an opportunity to present their work at an awards ceremony and gain international exposure through international exposure opportunities. Before entering, however, it is vitally important that contest rules and regulations are read thoroughly as these may vary between contests.

The Hong Kong Prize honors everyday heroes who make an extraordinary impactful in society. Past winners have included social justice activists, brain cancer survivors who operate a cha chaan teng for students with mental health issues, and an inventor of liquid biopsy technology used by doctors to detect cancer more quickly. Along with receiving a cash award, winners also gain access to top research facilities in Hong Kong as well as opportunities to collaborate with leading scientists around the globe.

At the Hong Kong Film Awards, many outstanding movies have won Best Director, such as classics like The Goldfinger, Oscar-winner Hero and Jackie Chan’s blockbuster Police Story. Additionally, documentary The Greatest and biopic of actor Jackie Chan called The Legend also received top recognition at these awards ceremonies. Other categories at these Hong Kong Film Awards included Best Actor, Supporting Actor and Costume Design awards.

The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize is an independent merit-based award sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited that honors scientists whose groundbreaking discoveries have had profound societal ramifications. Each year, five persons/teams will be selected to receive this prize across four fields (artificial intelligence and robots; life and health sciences; physical science materials; advanced manufacturing and FinTech). The highest decision-making body for this Prize is its Board which determines important scientific research fields to nominate to receive THE PRIZE; sets nomination requirements; nominate experts; and select members to Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team memberships.

Academy Fellows must have published at least one paper related to their field of expertise before the submission deadline, such as clinical studies, observational or epidemiological articles, meta-analyses or reviews in a scientific journal that is open for peer review.
